For the first time since the index was launched, a 4×4 pick-up, the Toyota Hilux, has topped the table. Its a nod to the all-weather versatility of 4×4 pick-ups and the continued growth of the construction sector.
The demand for pick-ups is on the rise overall with the Toyota Hilux joined by the Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, and Mitsubishi L200 in the top 25.
In October the Volkswagen Transporter was Aston Barclay’s second most popular van at auction for the second month running, followed by the Ford Transit, Citroen Dispatch, and IVECO Daily. Vauxhall vans also had a strong month with the Movano, Corsa van, Vivaro and Combo all featuring in the top 25.
Geoff Flood, Aston Barclay’s LCV national sales manager said: “LCV conversion rates have remained strong in October. Pick-ups are in high demand and in short supply, so buyers are searching the used market high and low for good used examples and prices have continued to rise.
“With new LCV delivery lead times of up to 12 months continuing, the used market is likely to remain on fire well into 2023.”
Aston Barclay’s index takes into consideration three key metrics: web views prior to sale, number of physical and online bids per sale, and the sale price achieved as a percentage of CAP average.
