Company Car Today names Citroën Berlingo ‘MPV of the Year’ in CCT100 Awards 2022

Citroën Berlingo has won the Company Car Today CCT100 ‘MPV of the Year’ award for the second year in a row, adding to its growing list of UK awards.

The CCT100 is Company Car Today’s annual list of the best 100 cars that can meet any business car requirement. Expert judges focus on 20 key categories and shortlist the top five cars in each one, assessing them across the key factors that make an excellent company car, including emissions, price, running costs, company car tax, practicality, desirability breadth of offering and the driving experience. The top performers in each category become Company Car Today CCT100 Award winners.

Paul Barker, Editor of Company Car Today, said: “The Berlingo is the ultimate in sensible transport, offering people and load-carrying capacity of a car with a footprint much larger than its compact dimensions and manoeuvrable driving experience.

“The move to an electric-only powertrain this year enhances the car’s environmental credentials while taking nothing away from its practicality, and sees the car well-placed to continue the form that has seen it retain the CCT100 ‘MPV of the Year’ title.”

Eurig Druce, Citroën UK’s Managing Director, said: “The fleet sector is one of the best testbeds for vehicle practicality, ease of use and reliability. With the Berlingo being named ‘MPV of the Year’ by Company Car Today for the second year running, it continues to showcase the high levels of engineering and innovation that goes into each Citroën model.”

New Citroën ë-Berlingo Electric includes all the recognised features of the internal combustion-powered Berlingo – without the need for compromise – adapting to the requirements of users thanks to its spacious interior, modularity and practicality. New ë-Berlingo Electric is available in two lengths, accommodating up to seven people in comfort. It also retains three independent seats in row two, the Modutop® multi-function roof and an opening rear window.

Every journey in a Citroën ë-Berlingo Electric is a relaxing experience for everyone on-board. The 100kW electric motor with 136hp, offers a smooth drive thanks to the immediately available torque. The 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack in ë-Berlingo offers range of up to 174 miles (WLTP), so that most daily trips are completely worry-free. It can be recharged up to 80% in 30 minutes at a public fast charging station (up to 100kW), and in 7½ hours via a 7.4kW single-phase 32A wallbox.

New ë-Berlingo Electric provides substantial TCO (total cost of ownership) savings for customers with reduced running and servicing costs, as well as 1% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rates across the entire range.

In line with Citroën UK’s principal of ‘Fair Pricing’, there have been reductions to the manufacturer’s recommended retail prices (MRRP) of the new ë-Berlingo Electric range, effective from 11 January 2022. As a brand determined to make electric vehicles available to all, the pricing adjustments allows the models to continue to attract the Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG) that saw its criteria for eligibility changed on 15 December 2021.

New ë-Berlingo Electric sees MRRP reductions allowing both ‘Feel’ and ‘Flair XTR’ models to continue to attract the Government grant. The MRRP for the range now starts at £30,995 resulting in a price from £29,495 once the PiCG has been applied.
