Kia Picanto wins Best Value Car at the Sunday Times Motor Awards 2019

The Kia Picanto has been awarded Best Value Car at The Sunday Times Motor Awards 2019. The Kia Picanto launched in 2017 is on-sale from £9,895 with specification options including Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, Reversing Camera System with Dynamic Guidelines and 7″ Touchscreen Satellite Navigation with RDS & DAB.

The editors and writers of The Sunday Times Driving and Driving.co.uk along with the experts from Times Luxx magazine and Sun Motors drew up shortlists for each of the categories. Readers of these titles were then able to vote for their favourite cars online to choose the winner.

Rob Gill, Automotive Editor of Sun Motors commented: “The Picanto is a small and (almost) perfectly formed car that is modestly good fun to drive, extremely frugal to run and comes with the Brucie-bonus of a seven-year warranty. Opt for the top-spec GT Line trim, and it even looks the part.”

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd. said: “The Kia Picanto is nearly entering the third year of its current model cycle so winning this award at this mid-life stage is humbling, and it proves that our A segment city car is industry leading in its customer offering. Delivering space, style, high specification and competitive pricing, the Picanto serves us, and our 190-strong dealer network, very well.”

Other Kia models shortlisted for the awards included ProCeed for Best Family Car and Best Designed Car and e-Niro for Best Electric Car. Kia was also nominated for Best Manufacturer.
