LEVC appoints Clive Sutton as authorised converter of TX electric taxis

LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) continues to expand its Authorised Converter Programme, with the appointment of Clive Sutton Ltd as luxury converter of the iconic TX electric taxi.

LEVC’s Authorised Converter Programme centres on collaborating with fellow industry leaders to expand its customer offering. The appointment of Clive Sutton is driven by the company’s expansive network of customers combined with its exceptionally high-quality standards.

As part of the new agreement, Clive Sutton will offer ultra-luxurious conversions of the iconic London Taxi, which will include a range of high-specification seating configurations and luxury features. Presented to the most discerning customers around the world, the Sutton VIP Class Taxi brings private jet-style features and finishes to the TX.

Building on the proven accessibility and functionality of the base TX model, the TX Sutton VIP Class is available to order in a range of configurations with two to six rear passenger seats, offering extreme levels of customisation to meet any customer requirement.

Each package benefits from modifications including a 20” media screen, front vision camera for passengers, real wood veneer door cappings, built-in umbrellas, mobile WiFi router, high quality audio system, rear seat heating and more. Between the rear passengers there is a new luxury armrest complete with cupholders, and the VIP taxi also features a drinks cooler.

On the outside, the Sutton TX can be specified in a subtle yet distinctive ‘two-tone’ exterior paint finish – typically, iconic black taxi paint for the lower portion, with Grigio Silverstone for the upper section. Customers can also select from a wide range of colours and finishes.

Joerg Hofmann, CEO of LEVC, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome Clive Sutton to LEVC’s expanding portfolio of Authorised Converters. The TX offers unrivalled accessibility and its class-leading range extender technology eliminates range anxiety, making it the ideal choice for those being driven through the city. As a key player in the industry and with proven experience in converting LEVC’s vehicles, we welcome Clive Sutton’s expert team to our Authorised Converter programme.”

Clive Sutton, Founder and CEO, commented: “Representing LEVC as an Authorised Converter is a great honour for our team of dedicated engineers and designers. The ‘VIP Class’ taxi we have created elevates the iconic London Taxi to a new level, bringing private-jet luxury to the TX. For more than 30 years we have focused on providing our customers with unique, high-quality, bespoke vehicles and our new partnership with LEVC allows this specialism to grow in a new, exciting direction.”

The TX Taxi’s ultra-advanced eCity technology provides a pure EV range of more than 64 miles, plus a total range-extended capacity of 318 miles. When required, the TX’s battery pack can be rapidly recharged via a 50kW charger to 80 per cent capacity in approximately 30 minutes. This flexibility gives drivers the confidence to undertake any journey.

The TX’s first-in-sector lightweight, robust aluminium construction not only enhances efficiency but also greatly improves durability, lasting twice as long as a conventional steel-bodied taxi. All this advanced technology is encapsulated within the TX’s thoroughly modern, iconic exterior design. Each TX Taxi comes with the reassurance of a three-year, 120,000-mile warranty and five-year, unlimited-mileage battery warranty.
