Lexus LC Convertible leads Lexus participation in Goodwood Speedweek

The new Lexus LC 500 Convertible will be appearing at Goodwood Speedweek, taking place from 16 – 18 October at the Goodwood race circuit in West Sussex.

Lexus’s first soft-top model, which has just gone on sale, will be taking part in the Super Car Display Drive, making an aural as well as visual impact with the full-throated sound of its naturally aspirated 457bhp V8 engine.

The event will also provide a rare opportunity to see the Lexus LFA supercar on the track. The car taking part is one of only 40 in Europe from a global production run of just 500 hand-built examples. The LFA will be appearing in the Super Car Run, giving fans the chance to hear its high-revving V10 engine in action around the circuit.

The RC F Track Edition is another performance-focused Lexus model that will be contributing to the spectacle, lining up in the Gentleman’s Racers Car Shootout.  This limited-production version of the RC F is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine and benefits from improved aerodynamics, reduced weight and retuned suspension to maximise its circuit-driving potential.

Goodwood Speedweek will also mark the public debut of the all-electric Lexus UX 300e, Lexus’s first battery electric vehicle, which will appear in the First Glance Dynamic Drive. This new version of the urban SUV opens an important new chapter in the Lexus Electrified programme. This targets a fundamental leap in vehicle performance, handling and control as well as driver enjoyment as mobility evolves towards autonomous driving and vehicle electrification.

Professional drivers Abbie Eaton and Michael Bentwood will be driving the Lexus cars at Goodwood.

Goodwood Speedweek has been organised following the cancellation of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival due to the Covid pandemic. It combines elements from both events in a weekend of motorsport action.  Fans will be able to view the three days of live action broadcast from the circuit on a dedicated streaming site free of charge, as well as on the Goodwood Twitter, Facebook and YouTube social media channels.  More information about Goodwood Speedweek is available here.
