MG continues its rapid charge with august sales results

MG Motor UK’s mid-term growth strategy continues at pace as the brand achieved yet another record-breaking month of sales in August. In a market that declined by 1.6% for the month, MG bucked the trend with an increase of 13.1% (663 registrations) for August when comparing to the same period in 2018.

This record performance represents the 22nd consecutive month of growth for the brand, while year-to-date sales have increased by an incredible 41% versus the same eight-month period in 2018 – cementing MG’s position as the UK’s fastest growing car manufacturer.

Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “August was another strong month for MG in the UK with our dealers delivering record volume for the month. At the same time, they’ve built a strong order bank for the all-important September plate change and continued to take orders for ZS EV in good numbers.

“As the first truly affordable family friendly electric car, ZS EV, continues to surpass our expectations and there’s a real desire from a growing number of new car buyers to switch to electric. MG has the supply and the aftersales support to facilitate this growing demand. Furthermore, ZS EV demonstrators are now starting to arrive with our dealers and potential customers can book test drivers either via our website or directly with their local MG dealer.”

MG ZS EV is still available from just £21,495 OTR as MG continues to match the Government’s £3,500 plug-in-car grant. This offer is available until MG receives 2,000 retail orders, a milestone which will be reached within the next few days. A range of introductory finance offers on the newcomer includes a PCP at 4.9% APR with no minimum deposit required. With a headline monthly payment of £279, switching to an electric car has never been easier.

With the introduction of ZS EV, MG is well on track to surpass its 2018 full-year sales total of 9,049 registrations as it also prepares to welcome the all-new HS SUV to the range in October.
