Å KODA triumphs in true fleet sales once again

ŠKODA has announced phenomenal half year figures for True Fleet – with a growth of 16.1% year-on-year.

Figures for the first six months of 2017 from the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders), show ŠKODA’s True Fleet registrations have grown 16.1% year-on-year. ŠKODA’s continued strength is due to an increase in corporate customer agreements and a record number of retail contract hire sales (3,619, +13.8% annually).

All models enjoyed strong half-year sales in the UK, resulting in a True Fleet market share of 3.6%. The launch of the all new Kodiaq seven-seat SUV has brought more success to the A SUV segment for ŠKODA, increasing market share in the segment from 3.9% to 4.7%.

ŠKODA’s Octavia continued to be the most successful model for fleet, achieving a 7.7% increase in registrations year-on-year. Customer deliveries of the multi-award winning Superb were up 9.8% for the Superb Estate and 14.7% for the Superb Hatch. Yeti deliveries rose by 22.4% year-on-year; while registrations of Fabia were equally impressive showing a 61.6% year-on-year growth. Sales of the Rapid remained strong with 451 delivered to customers in the first six months of the year and more than 400 Kodiaqs have joined company fleets since its launch earlier this year.

Å KODA also recently launched new petrol engines for fleet customers, offering petrol engines for both SE Tech hatch and estate models of the multi-award winning Octavia and Superb.

Henry Williams, ŠKODA Head of Fleet, comments: “ŠKODA fleet is continuing to go from strength to strength. We came out of 2016 with a record year for the brand and that momentum hasn’t slowed down. This year we invested in our Customer Service Programme and launched a dedicated Fleet Customer Service Centre to ensure an even better service for business customers. This combined with our strongest vehicle line-up yet, thanks to the launch of Kodiaq, has resulted in an incredibly attractive offer for business.

“Whilst this year Kodiaq set an important milestone for the brand, we are already looking to the future and the launch of Karoq, our new compact SUV. Karoq will be a game changer for the segment and will be packed with technology and innovative connectivity solutions to help keep businesses connected.”

Å KODA added to its long list of industry accolades at the start of 2017 with Superb named Best Upper Medium Car for the second consecutive year by Fleet World, and went on to clinch the same title in the Fleet News awards.
