What is ISA and how long will it be before it has an impact on British roads and drivers? Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) is the term given to a range of devices that assist drivers in choosing appropriate speeds and complying with speed limits. Intelligent Speed Assist technologies bring speed limit information into the vehicle. From next year vehicles will start to be fitted with ISA as a legal requirement in Europe, the European regulation also mandates all new cars that have already launched be fitted with ISA technology by July 2024. With the UK being likely to follow the new road safety regulations this speed limiter technology will have an impact on both private drivers and fleet operations right accros the UK. With less than a year to go before the first Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) vehicles arrive now seems a good time to get to grips with this technology and the benefits it will have, ISA technology has the potential to make speeding tickets a thing of the past.
