A very interesting and read worthy article appears in the Digest this week ‘Driving Will Outlawed by 2050, says IDtechex’.
IDtechex make the assumption that automotive technology will save lives and not using is criminally negligent, the technology they are referring to is autonomous cars, Robotaxis and Sensors. They predict that by 2040 (only 19 years away) Autonomous vehicles etc will be capable of fulfilling the world’s mobility needs without a single collision! Will that mean manual driving will be reserved only for sport and race tracks? Will that also mean being a back seat driver is a more acceptable and the safest option in 2050?
