It’s much welcome news this week that the car market has seen a 45% hike in new orders for cars over the last fortnight alone. Dealers have seen figures in the first three weeks of June outperform last June’s figures already. The surge in sales has also highlighted an increase in the number of customers making a purchase online, one in ten buyers are now likely to purchase via a “click and receive” model.
This remarkable surge in numbers is mirrored by the increase in traffic on our roads, what we all need to be more aware of whilst we are driving is the new regulations that came into place on 22nd June that protect cyclist and enforce violations . Councils have been given new powers to enforce rule 140 of the Highway Code. “You must not drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a solid white line during its times of operation. Do not drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a broken white line unless it is unavoidable. You must not park in any cycle lane whilst waiting restrictions apply.”
Make sure you know your solid white line cycle lane from your broken white line cycle lane.
