The Volkswagen Amarok has been crowned Best Utility Vehicle at the fourth annual Auto Trader New Car Awards, voted for by over 181,000 real car owners.
The Amarok picked up top spot in 15 out of 16 judging criteria and was heavily praised for its mix of rugged styling and smooth powertrain.
The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles pick-up truck was chosen ahead of its rivals in the New Car Awards, voted for by over 181,000, making it the largest awards to date for Auto Trader.
The winners represent the consumer champions of the new car market, based on the honest opinions of those who have bought, driven and lived with their new vehicles. Owners were asked to rate their cars across 16 different criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. They were also asked about their overall satisfaction with their car and how likely they would be to recommend it to others.
