Citroen Dispatch Van wins at the Commercial Fleet Awards

The Citroën Dispatch Van has scooped the ‘Medium LCV of the Year’ award at the highly coveted Commercial Fleet Awards, staged at the National Motorcycle Museum last night. This is the latest award for the Dispatch, which has bucked the U.K. market trend so far this year with sales up by around 16% compared with a K1 van sector that rose by 1.5%.

Citroën’s Dispatch Van has won the Commercial Fleet ‘Medium LCV of the Year’, presented in front of over 600 guests at a glittering ceremony hosted by TV presenter Kate Thornton at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham.

Chair of the judges and editor-in-chief of Commercial Fleet, Stephen Briers, commented, “Best in class payload, some of the lowest emissions available, excellent fuel economy and a wide range of variants that makes the Dispatch a clear winner in this category”, He also noted that Citroën is, “Proactive in the fleet market and customers benefit from good back up from the dealer network.”

As well as the award for the Dispatch, Citroën’s multi award-winning New Berlingo Van was ‘Highly Commended’ in the Commercial Fleet ‘Small LCV of the Year’ category.

Dispatch sales have grown strongly so far in 2019 with sales up 16% YTD, while Citroën LCV sales have bucked the market trend in the first nine months of the year. Commercial vehicle sales for Dispatch, New Berlingo Van and Relay have grown by 9.8% compared with a combined LCV and HCV market that has grown by 4%, while in the month of September, Citroën van sales grew an impressive 26.8%, while the market overall suffered a major fall of -22.8%.

The latest addition to the comprehensive Dispatch Van and Crew Van range is the Dispatch Blue HDi 120 S&S EAT8 M Enterprise, introducing a second variant of the Dispatch with automatic transmission, available as either a Panel Van or Crew Van. The Dispatch is available in three lengths and four trim levels, with a range of low emission power options.
