Citroën makes it a hat trick in the Company Van Today Awards 2021

Citroën has won a hat trick of prestigious titles in the Company Van Today Awards 2021. New 100% electric Citroën ë-Dispatch takes home the top prize of ‘Van of the Year’, whilst also being named winner of the ‘Green Award’ – a title awarded to the most impressive electric LCV of the year.

The multi-award winning Citroën Berlingo Van was also victorious, collecting the ‘Light Van Award’ from the Company Van Today team.

New 100% electric Citroën ë-Dispatch is available with either a 50kwh or 75kwh battery, with the latter offering up to 205 miles (WLTP) of range from a single charge. The van provides drivers with a maximum load volume of 6.6m3, thanks to the Moduwork® front passenger seat that allows longer items to be carried, and a payload of up to 1,002kg. New ë-Dispatch supports up to 100kw rapid charging, with an 80% re-charge taking just 30 minutes on 50kwh versions and 45 minutes on 75kwh models.

Citroën ë-Dispatch operators are also able to benefit from financial savings as the van remains exempt from Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emissions payments in cities across the UK.

Tom Webster, Company Van Today’s Editor said: “The Citroën e-Dispatch has opened the door to electrification for fleets that require a van that can match a Diesel powertrain for practicality and usability, and will help kick-start the migration to electric light commercials.

“The Berlingo has long been a strong performer in the light van sector, offering a great selection of models, clever technology and appeal in all the areas important to hard-working businesses.”

The ‘Light Van Award’ is the latest accolade to be bestowed upon Citroën Berlingo Van, having already being awarded accolades by Company Car and Van, Business Vans and Trade Van Driver in 2021. With a range of engine options and practical loading capacity, Citroën Berlingo offers up to 1,000kg of maximum payload and a load volume of up to 4.4m3 with the EXTENSO® seat folded.

Eurig Druce, Managing Director of Citroën UK, said: “This latest round of accolades – this time from the experts at Company Van Today – are testament to the quality of the Citroën LCV product range. Throughout 2021 we will see the strength of our offering continuing to improve with all three of our vans available with 100% electric powertrains by the end of 2021. I am also incredibly proud that a large number of these award-winning vehicles will be built in the UK in the coming years.”

New Citroën ë-Dispatch is the first latest-generation LCV model in the Citroën range to offer 100% electric versions. By the end of 2021 Citroën will offer a full range of 100% electric vans, with the compact ë-Berlingo Van and larger ë-Relay joining the commercial vehicle line-up before the end of the year.

The Company Van Today Awards 2021 were decided upon by the magazine’s editorial team, harnessing decades of experience of the light commercial vehicle sector. They reward the lcvs that best serve the business marketplace across a broad range of criteria, including operating cost, payload, safety equipment and technology.
