MG Motor UK achieves best-ever march and record-breaking quarter

MG Motor UK is celebrating a record-breaking start to the year, achieving its best-ever sales figures for the month of March with 1,814 new registrations. The records continued to tumble as the bumper sales in March contributed to an unprecedented quarter of sales with MG Motor UK reaching 3,016 new registrations over the first three months of 2019, up by 70% versus the same period in 2018. Together, these outstanding results reinforce MG’s position as the fastest growing car manufacturer in the UK.

Bolstered by the popularity of the MG3 and MG ZS, the impressive new results reflect the continuous investment and strong growth in the MG brand, its product portfolio and extensive dealership network.

Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “This continued rise in popularity of MG cars among the car buying public is vital, as we further strengthen our position as the fastest-growing car manufacturer in the UK. We have welcomed many new customers who seek the great value for money that we provide, and MG showrooms have been busier than ever before.

“We are eager to maintain this momentum, supported not only by our ever-growing network of national dealerships, but also by the great anticipation of our first-ever battery-electric vehicle, the MG ZS Electric, due soon. With its launch in autumn this year, customers can expect a zero emissions vehicle that offers outstanding practicality and a premium feel, and this new car will only add to the popularity of our diverse model range.”

Since launch, MG has sold nearly 15,000 MG3s and more than 7,500 MG ZS compact SUVs. Both cars come with a 7-year manufacturer’s warranty along with a long list of standard equipment, offering excellent value for money and contributing to the popularity of the models since they were launched. The MG3 and MG ZS are both available in three different trim levels – Explore, Excite and Exclusive. Prices for the MG3 start from as low as £9,495 OTR, while the MG ZS is available from just £12,495 OTR.

Over the past 12 months, MG has achieved several monthly sales records. In 2018, the brand became the fastest growing car manufacturer in the UK, with sales increasing by 104% versus figures from the previous year.

To match its sales performance and ensure customers receive top quality service, MG has invested heavily in growing its dealer network. Comprised of 92 dealerships franchises, the network stretches across a wide range of strategic locations in the UK. In the first three months of 2019 alone, the brand has welcomed twelve dealerships to the family, including Unity Automotive in Coventry, WLMG Marylebone in London and Mackie Motors in north-east Scotland.
