The Nissan Navara has been named as Glass’s Used Commercial Hero for May

Each month, Glass’s Commercial Vehicle editors hold a meeting to name the current Used Van Hero in the UK market – the model they believe offers versatility, durability and outstanding value for money.

Andy Picton, Chief Commercial Vehicle Editor: “The Nissan Navara has a great history and reputation in the 4×4 market. Now with used examples of the new Navara readily available, there are some great bargains to be had on the previous generation models.

Andy added that “If you are actively seeking a used pick-up, this sector is currently awash with examples and at this age, you will get a lot of metal for your money. As well as deemed to be great value, the Tekna offers a high level of specification”

WHY?

The current version of the Navara is now on its fourth generation. During this time, it has gained a great reputation as being just as good on-road as it is off. That being the case, there are some great bargains to be had on the previous version.

The 2.5-litre dCi 190PS powertrain is available in both manual and automatic transmissions and when specified in Tekna Connect trim comes with sat nav, A/C, climate control, leather upholstery, cruise control, electric pack and alloy wheels.

WHEN WAS IT ON SALE?

The first generation Nissan Navara was launched in the UK in 2000.

WHAT’S GOOD?

Ample interior space, with car quality and good levels of specification. Good driving position with all round visibility. Good dealer network.

WHAT’S BAD?

Check for any recalls. Timing chains and driveshaft issues. Check for rust on chassis between load area and cabin.
