New website launched focusing on alternatively fuelled vehicles

The new website, DiscoverEV.co.uk, aims to unlock consumer confidence in electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, by providing independent and authoritative information all in one place.

Louise Woodhams, previously editor of several high-profile automotive titles, together with one of the UK’s best bespoke web design and development agencies 360 Software Solutions, has launched Discoverev.co.uk – a new website focusing on electric (EV), hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles.

The site delivers independent advice and authoritative information for existing owners of alternatively fuelled vehicles (AFV), as well as new car buyers looking to reap the rewards of switching to lower emission vehicles.

Content includes independent reviews of every electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicle on the market, which will be supported by useful features, quick tips and all the latest news. Research shows that UK motorists underestimate the benefits of electric driving, and Discover EV aims to give all of the facts to help buyers, which is why there is also a dedicated FAQ page, a jargon buster to help get to grips with the terminology, and a list of useful websites.

Discover EV is fronted by Louise Woodhams, who has worked in the automotive industry since 1998, during which time she has been editor of several car magazines, headed up PR campaigns for big industry names and launched her own media agency.

The team behind Discover EV are passionate about electric cars and excited about the future of electric motoring – they don’t just write about them either, they live, breathe and spend all their money on them. Their aim is to help motorists understand the pros, cost savings and capabilities of every AFV on the market.

Social media content across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, plus an email address, will provide a direct link with the Discover EV team for readers who have additional queries.

Editor Louise Woodhams commented: “The British public lack understanding when it comes to alternatively fuelled vehicles, and with the Government announcing new diesel and petrol cars and vans will be banned in the UK from 2040, now seemed like the perfect time to help provide Brits with the information they need before choosing an electric car.

“As governments move to increase emissions standards, and with the world’s biggest manufacturers making significant investments in electric and hybrid cars, the general public need to understand that AFVs will be playing a big role in the near future. Discover EV provides honest, independent and helpful content to help inform potential buyers of electric, plug-in and plug-in hybrid models, but also benefit existing owners.”

Industry names welcoming the new site include pluginsure.co.uk. Director, Sam Spare, said: “As the UK’s first-ever electric car insurance specialists we’re passionate about emission-free motoring and it’s great to see Discover EV share that enthusiasm.

“As the shift towards pure electric continues to gather momentum, most noticeably within the past few years, there remains much to be done to communicate the benefits of electric vehicles. With its extensive, and ever-expanding, range of news, reviews and features, Discover EV represents an excellent resource for anyone thinking of going electric. In fact, whether you’re a considerer, an existing owner or just generally interested in alternatively fuelled vehicles, this is a website that will definitely help you learn more about what we believe to be the future of motoring.”
