Driving with dirty windscreens can lead to a fine, it could also cause lasting damage to a windscreen or vehicle but could also be a violation of The Highway Code. The Highway Code states that failure to have full control of a vehicle or a full view of the road and traffic ahead, is classed as driving in a dangerous condition and you could be faced with a £1,000 fine or 3 points on your licence. To help drivers avoid costly fines, the automotive experts at Windscreen Wipers have shared how to prepare for harsher weather this winter: When it comes to driving in more extreme weather, make sure to turn your wipers on (unless they are on automatic) and choose a setting appropriate for how fast you need your wipers to clear the windscreen. This may change based on how heavy the rain is, how quickly it is falling, or how fast you are driving. If your wipers are at maximum speed but you still feel as though your visibility is impaired, you must reduce your speed. If the rain is affecting your visibility, then increase your distance from the car in front – this will reduce the amount of spray from that car and hopefully improve your visibility.

Finally, a Merry Christmas from everyone at the Auto Digest and a very Happy New Year.
