As most of us know news headlines can sometimes be rather disingenuous, the headline is designed to grab your attention with a simply unbelievable “headline grabbing” news story, once you either read or listen to the full article in a little more detail or read between the lines then you understand the headline a little better and the facts become clear. An article I read this week was a fine example of a show stopping headline.
“Range Rover specialist reveals ultimate ULEZ compliant V8 SUV”
How on earth can a fuel injected 270 BHP 4.6-litre V8 SUV find its way around the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge. Read the article fully and the headline makes a little more sense, the ULEZ compliant vehicle is in fact pre-1981 thus classed as a historical status vehicle! With a starting price of £125,000 it’s a rather expensive way of avoiding paying the ULEZ charge that said it’s an incredibly stylish and comfortable way to do it.
